This list, which includes approximately 250 animal-derived ingredients and nearly 600 ingredients that may be animal derived is available at the Animal Rights Resource Site on the internet. Animal Ingredients and their Alternatives

Vegetarian Joumal's Guide to Food Ingredients by Jeanne-Made Bartas

This 28-page booldet lists nearly 300 ingredients that are either animal-derived, plant-dedved, or both. At the end of each definition, ingredients are conveniently classified with terms such as vegetarian, vegan, non vegetarian, typically non-vegetarian, etc. $4.60. Call VRG at (410) 366-VEGE.

Personal Care for People who Care (9th edition)

This 195-page book published by the National Anti-Vivisection Society is primarily used to identify manufacturers of cosmetics and household goods that do and do not test their products on animals.
